Christmas Activities in St. George

Christmas is a time to make wonderful memories with family and friends while celebrating the spirit of the season. With a background of gorgeous red-rock views, St. George is host to a wide variety of fun, family friendly Christmas activities and events. If you’ll be visiting St. George during the Christmas season, here are just two of the city’s festive offerings.

DickensChristmasFestival

The St. George Dickens Christmas Festival isn’t your ordinary craft show or display of lights – it’s an all-out celebration with a setting reminiscent of London in the 19th century, complete with period costumes and holiday music. You can shop for gifts for your loved ones or get a treat for yourself while taking inĀ  all of the sights and sounds of the festival. A Dickens Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Father Christmas, and children can see Santa during each day of the celebration. The St. George Dickens Christmas Festival is typically held during the first weekend in December — December 2nd through December 5th in 2015 — at the Dixie Convention Center. The fun takes place each day of the festival from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. Admission is free for children three and under, $5 for children age 4 to 12, $6 for seniors who are 65 and older, and $7 for adults. Tickets can be bought online or at the door.

Those seeking something more contemporary should head to George Streetfest on Main. The George Streetfest is a large street market with artisan vendors, stage concerts and live music, craft beer and wine samplings, and some of the best food truck and restaurant eats that St. George has to offer. During the early part of the evening, children can join the Streetfest kid’s dance party or watch the fun crowd performances. George Streetfest on Main takes place on the first Friday of every month year-round, but in December the event has a distinctive holiday flair. George Streetfest happens along Main Street in downtown St. George from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on December 4, 2015. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.

If you’re looking to celebrate the Christmas season with fanfare and a beautiful backdrop, consider heading to St. George and partaking in these lively events. You’ll have a great time, mingle with new friends, get to taste amazing food, and experience the holidays like never before.
