Tuacahn offers outstanding musical and theatrical performances throughout the spring, summer, and fall…but the magic doesn’t stop when the temperatures cool. Every December, Tuacahn pulls out the stops and puts on a Christmas spectacle that should be enjoyed by everyone. Details below.
This year, Christmas in the Canyon is presented at Tuacahn every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening from November 28th – December 22nd. The entire Tuacahn theater and surrounding area is decorated to fit the season. Lights line the walkways, a fire burns to keep visitors warm, and Christmas music plays throughout. The spectacle includes a Live Nativity (7:00 and 8:00 pm each evening; 20 min. duration) and Santa Claus (6:30-9:00 pm). You may even want to step into the gift gallery and do a little Christmas shopping while you’re here.
The Live Nativity is made up of volunteer actors and actresses (along with live camels and other animals) who put the touching and classic tale of baby Jesus on stage for all to enjoy.
While the Live Nativity and Salty Train costs a minimal fee (nativity $2.00/person; $15.00/family up to 10; train $2.00/ride), the rest of the experience is completely free. You may just want to walk around with your sweetheart and take in the ambiance, hot chocolate in hand, of course.
