Restaurant Review: Riggatti’s Woodfired Pizza

There’s so much to love about St. George: the incredible natural scenery, the outdoor activities, the excellent assortment of restaurants. If you have a craving for pizza, one of the best places to dine in the area is Riggatti’s Woodfired Pizza. The laid back and relaxed restaurant specializes in serving up authentic wood fired pizzas, and once you try it out you’re bound to come back for more.

Riggatti’s Woodfired Pizza offers a different aroma and taste from most other pizzerias because their pizza is baked in an actual wood-fired oven, just like traditional Napoletano style pizzerias. Furthermore, each crust is hand tossed, which adds to its delicious flavor and texture. This is true artisan pizza that rests a step above what most people are used to — you can really taste how all of the flavors come together; the crust alone is amazing.

So, let’s get to the menu. Riggatti’s has a bevy of pizza varieties to choose from such as classic Margherita, the Pizza Islander with pineapple, sliced ham, and barbecue sauce, and The Phil, which contains bacon, pepperoni, old world sausage, olives, and green peppers. If you love veggie pies you’ll definitely want to try The Minoan, which combines feta, mozzarella, cucumbers, olives, onions, fresh tomatoes, and a drizzle of olive oil.

In addition to wonderful pizza, Riggatti’s also serves an assortment of fresh salads that are quite satisfying. The Riggatti Salad is a local favorite that’s a mix of salad greens with cheese, olives, chicken, feta, pesto, and croutons. Those who like spicy dishes will enjoy the Buffalo Bob Salad, which has blue cheese, chicken, croutons, and a touch of hot sauce. If you can spare room for dessert, you won’t be disappointed in The Georgian. This sweet and savory treat melds cream cheese frosting with peaches, basil, and mozzarella on a light crust. For a more traditional sweet, Riggatti’s also has Cinna-Sticks, Apple Cobbler and Peach Cobbler pizzas.

The food at Riggatti’s Woodfired Pizza is definitely worth a try, but what makes the restaurant such a great pick is the service and friendly staff. They provide the type of hospitality that’s a perfect match for the restaurant’s atmosphere and will truly make you feel at home. Need I say more?! The next time you want to enjoy a fantastic casual meal or you get a taste for gourmet pizza, head to Riggatti’s.
