Christmas in St. George

St. George is a wonderful place to visit anytime of year, but during the winter holiday season it becomes absolutely magical. The beauty of the area’s sweeping natural formations and landscapes, its vibrant arts and cultural scene, and an impressive assortment of festive displays combine to make Christmas time in the city unlike anywhere else. Whether you’re looking for activities to enjoy with friends, family, or on your own, you’ll find plenty in St. George that will get your holiday spirit going. Here are two fun Christmas events that you won’t want to miss.

The Dickens Christmas Festival

Charles Dickens captured what many now consider to be a classic Christmas setting in his novel A Christmas Carol. Over 170 years later the story’s imagery has lived on, and come Christmas time in St. George it becomes the inspiration for an entire festival. The Dickens Christmas Festival features a setting complete with Olde English style displays, shops, actors in great period costumes, and an array of food and artisan vendors. It’s a place where people can go to kick off the holiday season, do some gift shopping, enjoy live entertainment, and sample a collection of delicious treats.

One of the highlights of the Dickens Christmas Festival is the performance stage, which will showcase a variety of acts including short productions of Scrooge and Oliver Twist, musical performances from Santa Claus himself, and dance ensembles. The beautifully decorated vendor area of the event is always fun to visit and you can find gifts there including handcrafted jewelry, candles, gadgets, cards, and gourmet delights.

The Dickens Christmas Festival takes place November 30 to December 3 at the Dixie Convention Center. It lasts from 10:00am to 9:00pm each day and children three and under are admitted for free. Admission is $5 for children age 5-12, $6 for seniors 65 and over, and $7 for all other guests.

The Nashville Tribute Band Christmas Tour
